Janet Siltanen, alto

Janet is proud to be a founding member of the Ottawa Bach Choir. She has enjoyed singing with the choir in its regular season concerts, as well as in all of the choir’s recording and touring engagements. Janet studies voice with Rachel Beausoleil-Morrison, and has recently started to sing solo trios and quartets (Purcell, Schubert and Mozart), as well as alto solos (Vivaldi, Saint-SaÑ‘ns). 

Janet has a PhD from Cambridge University in Social and Political Sciences, and is currently Professor of Sociology and Director of the Institute of Political Economy at Carleton University.
