Grace Quinsey

Soprano Grace Quinsey, born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, has quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with on the opera stage, becoming well known for her dramatic acting capabilities and insightful musical interpretation. Her favourite role to perform is Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), which she performed with No Strings Theatre in August 2022. Grace also adores oratorio and early music – she sings with the Ottawa Bach Choir and frequently is engaged for sacred performances with orchestra. She is preparing for upcoming performances as the soprano soloist for Haydn’s The Creation (October 2023), Adele in Die Fledermaus (Opera York, Nov 2023), and is singing with the Year of Czech Music Opera Festival (2024). Her recent operatic engagements include Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), First Lady & Papagena (Die Zauberflöte, “Grace Quinsey as Papagena [stole] the show whenever she peeked out of her disguise” – Barcza Blog), Norina (Don Pasquale), and Zulma (L’italiana in Algeri). She played the roles of Helen & Robin in a workshopped version of Michael Rose’s A Northern Lights Dream. Grace also performs with Toronto Operetta Theatre and Opera In Concert. Other roles include Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Alice (Night Blooming Cereus Flower), Pamina (role study, Die Zauberflöte) and the soprano lead in almost every Gilbert & Sullivan’s operetta. Grace has a comprehensive Cecchetti ballet background, and she has been noted for her unique characterization, intelligent musicality, and dramatic stage presence. When not on stage, Grace is a software developer and is a video game aficionado.
