Jane Fingler

Jane Fingler, originally from Winnipeg, is a Toronto-based soprano who is currently pursuing a DMA in Historical Performance in Voice from the University of Toronto, where she also completed her MM in Historical Performance in 2021. She regularly performs as a chorister and soloist, and has performed with groups including the Ottawa Bach Choir, Tafelmusik, The Theatre of Early Music (Toronto), The Elora Singers and Winnipeg ensembles Canzona Baroque Choir, Polycoro and Camerata Nova Vocal Group. As a soloist she has performed Handel’s Messiah with The Winnipeg and Regina Symphony Orchestras, the Okanogan Festival Chorus, and Handel’s Israel in Egypt with Canzona and the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. She will be featured as soloist in Bach’s St. John Passion in Winnipeg with Canzona and the Pacific Baroque Orchestra in October 2022.  Although she is passionate about performing early music, Jane also has performed a wealth of contemporary music including performances in the Winnipeg New Music Festival, where she was featured in Hilmar Hilmarsson’s composition for Soprano and Orchestra, Between Friends, and the Groundswell festival where she performed Andrew Balfour’s Mon Louis, a piece for two sopranos and electronics. She is also a member of the newly formed Toronto quintet Diapente, who will give their first performance later this year.
