Tenor Michiel Schrey began his musical journey in the Anglican cathedral choir at Kingston, Ontario, where he was raised. He eventually moved to Montreal, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from McGill University, and then pursuing vocal studies. He completed his Master’s degree at McGill and finished his training at the Banff Arts Centre, the Britten-Pears School in Aldeburgh, England, and at the Steans Institute of the Ravinia Festival in Chicago.
Michiel Schrey has sung many Baroque operas, with companies such as Toronto’s Opera Atelier, Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland, Le Concert Spirituel, Paris and many more! Michiel has joined the Ottawa Bach Choir for numerous performances, including the ATMA Classique recording of Bach’s Six Motets.
