BAROQUE CHRISTMAS

Description

Our first concert of our 21st season begins with Heinrich Schütz’ Historia der Geburt Jesu Christi (Christmas Oratorio), SWV 435, in collaboration with the nationwide Schützfest in honour of his 350th anniversary, as well as festive works for the season by Bach and Buxtehude. The Theatre of Early Music baroque orchestra joins the choir, along with international artists from North America and Britain, including concert master Adrian Butterfield, soloists from the choir and guests, countertenor Daniel Taylor, tenor Rufus Müller, Ottawa native Matthew Li, bass, and more! Presented in the beautiful setting of Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre in Ottawa, you won’t want to miss this spectacular celebration!
