Details

The Ottawa Bach Choir’s second concert of the season features an authentic Baroque performance of Bach’s Johannes-Passion (St. John Passion), BWV 245, composed in 1724. The performance of the Passion was the outstanding musical event of the year in Leipzig and this setting of John’s Gospel is Bach’s most theatrical. Joining the choir will be an array of Canadian and international early-music stars, including soprano Hélène Brunet, countertenors Daniel Taylor and Nicholas Burns, British tenor Charles Daniels and bass-baritone Edward Grint, along with the Theatre of Early Music baroque orchestra. A performance not to be missed!
