Soprano Charlotte Stewart-Juby is a graduate of opera studies at McGill University as a student of soprano Dominique Labelle. During her time in Montreal, Charlotte had the opportunity to perform in numerous productions with Opera McGill and for a season with the Choir of St Andrew and St Paul under the direction of conductor Jordan de Souza. Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Charlotte has performed as a guest soloist with the Kingston Chamber Choir and Kingston Choral Society. Charlotte has also worked with conductor Geoffrey Sirett of Cantabile Choirs of Kingston, appearing on their most recent album, What Sweeter Music. For the past four years, Charlotte lived in Toronto, working with conductor Brainerd Blyden-Taylor as a soprano with All Saints Kingsway Church and the Nathaniel Dett Chorale. Charlotte also performed in productions with Opera In Concert under the direction of Robert Cooper and trained with Against the Grain Theatre’s opera intensive program. Beginning in October 2019, she amalgamated her interests in opera, education and outreach by joining the Teaching Artist roster with the Canadian Opera Company, travelling throughout the GTA offering introductory workshops to elementary and secondary classes. Charlotte recently re-located to Ottawa as a student in Carleton’s Music and Culture program, and is very happy to be joining the Ottawa Bach Choir this season!
